Special Core Types (Flush and Moulded Panel Doors)

Choice of door should include consideration of core type. If specific performance is required sucha as fire resistance this is particularly important. the details shown are for guidance only, actual core construction will be at the discretion of Premdor.


Safe N Sound - Non Fire Rated

Solid core material in a standard thickness door, offering the best specifiacation levels and two valuable advantages:

Improved fire resistance.
reduced sound transmittance.


Flax Core - Fireshield / Firemaster

A solid flaxboard core surrounded by substantial framing. When correctly installed with suitable intumescent strips as a doorset assembly the door will provide fire resistance.
This specification is standard on catalogue Fireshield and Firemaster doors.


Timber Core - Regal Fireshield / Firemaster

Suitable for heavy duty locations. The robust solid timber core construction enables the fixing of almost all types of door funiture and ironmongery.
Regal offers the additional benefits of fire resistance, when correctly installed, and good sound installation.
